Another jolly weekend
The merry-go-round
Its the same problems going round and round every day at the moment, what about QUEST and Xit2, what about Terms and Conditions, what about fee levels, which organisation is least likely to self-implode, at least DEA/HIs are now beginning to worry about the day-to-day issues of being self-employed which can only a good thing.
Social Housing
How do you fancy doing an EPC for 6 pounds per property? Think I am joking? Put it this way I KNOW for certain that properties are going to be visited and EPCs are going to be compiled for this bargain price. I also know that many of the Social Housing successful bids were well under 30 pounds per property.
Did you wonder why I didn't bother to get involved in Social Housing? An utter waste of my time I can assure you- and waste of yours too I would hope.
Terms and Conditions
Ooops, I've seen the SAVA ones, not good enough I am afraid so your best option is still to register and contribute to the overall fund at ASHIEA which I am far more confident will produce a quality set of Terms and Conditions.
The Charm Offensive
A remarkable about-face from those who had been saying nasty and inaccurate things about NRG Experts and myself. Either this is a lull or they have understood that repeating inaccuracies ad infinitum doesn't make them more truthful. Nice to see peace break-out for a while, pity its trashed any chance of mutual respect and the combined moving ahead for the wider good of DEA/HIs but such is life. Not something to dwell on as we move towards August 1st.
Marketing Marketing Marketing
So its time to spin the marketing wheel once again- Get the message out there and get more customers for NRG Experts- nice customers who want good service are the best clients and they will be the ones we shall continue to try and attract. I don't know if the future is all cut-throat fees and low calibre companies / employees / service but if it is, there is no need for NRG Experts to take the lead in the nose-dive to 'lowest common denominator'. Lets be clear I can fight with the best of them, get massive volumes at low margins and play that game, but at this point in time, its not for me- like I have mentioned before, I have seen similar chaos before in another sector. I watched the telecoms boom and bust from the inside- project managing the leading project for a multi-billion pound FTSE 100 telecoms company. Over a period of 2 years the company imploded and so did many other large companies that shed tens of thousands of employees. The financial stakes were many times higher back then, but the problems were no different- questions over processes, poorly defined accreditation, contracts that no-one signed, prices that double each month then started halving just after the money was committed and people were employed, factories built etc.
If its going to be bloodbath, bring it on! NRG Experts will continue to provide a humourous overview to the goings-on within the sector!
Huge failure rate on EPC submissions
One MAJOR awarding body is having to return around 70% of candidates EPC submissions at this time. I am sure you are aware that there are definitely concerns over the quality of the training being offered so the root cause of this failure rate is not a single factor. 70% is astonishing, maybe the accreditation rate per day will keep dropping now. I will keep repeating this til I bore myself but I told Ruth Kelly that getting to 3000 accredited DEA/HIs was not going to be easy and may take the rest of the calendar year. No-one in that meeting room agreed with me. At some point very soon I will hang my hat on a prediction and we'll see how close I can get!
6 pounds for EPC data, its hilarious but true.
