The Blog Fanclub

Just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words and phonecalls I have had about the blog over recent days and weeks- much appreciated! The honest truth is that I really wasn't sure about doing a blog, it wasn't something I knew how to do, what to do, and didn't know where to start. My wife can take the blame, she simple said "You have lots of industry contacts and knowledge and people are keen to talk to you as they want to know what you have got to say- a blog would be a very good idea!" and so it snowballed form there and now over 200 people (closer to 300) are reading it which is quite flattering I have to say.

All quiet on the western front
Not a lot happening really, DEA/HIs are still having a lot of problems with accreditation schemes but looking a little further into this, the big issue is with the training providers and employers who have made promises and commitments they knew they could not keep- but its all about getting the bodies through and qualified- lets turn the EPC into a commodity product etc. Disappointing to say the least but that IS the reality for a majority of the marketplace.

NRG Experts numbers
Now past 700 and rising, really impressive, if I had a salesforce I'd be dangerous. Clearly NRG Experts has a lot of potential, but its slowly realising that potential that is the next big challenge. No great rush though, plenty of carnage to witness soon, stay tuned for the HIPs industry carnage-o-meter!!

The House of Lords 'ban HIPs' debate
So it all kicks off again tomorrow with a non-fatal debate about killing off HIPs. We've seen it all before and whilst this debate alone cannot kill HIPs, the continual bleating by the Tories is a political winner for them and bad news all round for those firmly entrenched in the HIPs industry. I think we should thank our lucky stars that the Tory and uber-performer Michael Gove MP has been moved on to pastures new, he has been very effective and has caused considerable damage. I think RICS owe him a beer or seven anyway.
