So what DEA/HI organisations would you join - if any?

Organisations for DEA/HIs

Ah, well here we go then, this has become a hot topic in the last 24 hours thats for sure. Here's my personal view on it all:

IHI- Very weak start. New green shoots, needs to be seen to deliver, big expectations being expressed by members! Has the highest current awareness amongst DEA/HIs. My opinion is that the last 7 months of IHI have been wasted, the newly-elected Council have to deliver, too early to tell if it will evolve into a good organisation or remain a poorly performing one.

IDEA - the new organisation announced just a few hours ago, its free to join which should be attractive to DEA/HIs, asks to be judged in 12 months time. Nothing more known yet. (I will link to website when available/known)

NARHI- in big trouble, no way back no matter who is on the Board. Sadly it messed up communication for last 12 months and has lost momentum. I see no future other than some Board members using it to open doors to CLG, AHIPP and whoever else they fancy tea and biccies with.

Who to join then? Looking at the above, you arent going to rush to join NARHI are you. So your average DEA/HI is only going to pay to join a maximum of one org in the next 12 months really- thats it. They can also choose to join another one for free- let these organisations do the talking and walking now, they have got enough oxygen. Every time a bunch of people have got together over the past 18 months, they have made a mess of it. With 2 of the 3 above claiming to be here for the long-haul, if we can get even one proper organisation out of it, then that can only be a good thing for the industry. It'll be some months I suspect before I have any need to revisit my view that the only proper credible organisation in this industry is AHIPP. I might not like everything they do, but my god, they get around and make it happen- a lesson there for everyone I would have thought.
